Top 5 ways to maximize your Character party
You did it! You just booked your first party princess…but now what? For many, character entertainment is a new experience; so it’s not uncommon to feel lost when it comes to inviting them to your event. Some parents feel they missed the entire visit because they were scrambling around for chairs, cameras, cake, children, and more. SO here is our list for the top 5 ways you can maximize your time with a princess.
TIP #1 - LOCATION
Sure, you gave the business your address…but where will the princesses perform? The number one time waster in visits is looking for a spot to hold activities. You want to utilize all of your time, so having a specific spot in mind for dancing, singing, photos, and special activities is a sure fire way to keep the party flowing. We recommend a clear living room inside or empty canopy space for outdoors. Wherever you choose, just keep in mind which character is attending! (ballgown princesses tend to take lots of space)
TIP # 2 - GUEST ROUND UP
“Where’s the birthday girl/boy?” is a phrase we hear way too often, and we understand it can be tough keeping an eye on the clock while celebrating. We recommend setting an alarm for five minutes before your character should arrive, that way you can round up all the child guests for when they do.
TIP #3 - DESIGNATED CAMERA MAN
You want to capture your child’s excitement as your surprise unfolds…but you also want to experience it too. Designate a friend or family member to capture the moments so you can experience them in real time. Many parents lament saying “I got no photos because I got so distracted!”, so take the pressure off and enjoy.
TIP #4 - EXPECTANCE OF ARRIVAL
You know your child more than anyone else. That’s why we recommend considering if your visit should be a surprise or not. Some children love surprises, while others may scare seeing their favorite princess for the first time. Giving your child a heads up gives them time to prepare and get excited. It happens more than not that we see birthday kids hide behind their parents the entire party.
TIP #5 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONG
Whether you would like the happy birthday song done in the living room or by the cake, its important to have that decision made before we ask. If you know that singing should be with candles, set them out ready to light when the moment arrives. We have had our experiences of shuffling for cake in the final 2 minutes, and the last thing you want on a birthday is stress!
